How many care homes does Abbey Total Care Group run, and where are they?
Eleven, across north, east and south London, Essex and Surrey: Ilford (two), Barnet, Romford, Balham, Wallington, Buckhurst Hill, Hornchurch, Banstead, Upper Norwood and Streatham. Each has its own website and phone number. See all our locations.

Do all Abbey homes provide nursing care?
Every Abbey Total Care home provides nursing care, with registered nurses on duty day and night, and each keeps the same nine services. Read what nursing care means.
Who pays for a care home in 2026/27?
Councils means-test: above £23,250 in capital a person usually pays the full fee, and capital under £14,250 is ignored, though income still counts. The NHS pays in full if continuing healthcare needs qualify, and £267.68 a week towards registered nursing otherwise. Read who pays for a care home.
Do I lose my State Pension if I move into a care home?
No, moving into a care home does not stop it. If you pay your own fees you keep it. If the council helps, it counts as income towards the fee and you keep at least £31.80 a week. GOV.UK says most other benefits usually stop within 28 days when the NHS or the council funds the stay.
